Andres L. graduated from De Paul University in 2021. After initially working in the Chicago Department of Transportation’s “Streets Are For Everybody” program, he is now Finance and Development Associate for Chicago Run, a nonprofit organization focussing on providing inclusive running activities and resources to youth aged K-12 throughout the Chicagoland area.

Chicago Run promotes physical activity and wellness to youth to help build resilience to trauma and break systematic, historical barriers that keep them from achieving their full potential and well-being.

As a CPS alum who grew up with Chicago Run programming, Andres says, “it’s been an awesome experience that’s really come full circle and has allowed me to have a direct, positive impact on future generations. I’m so appreciative of this opportunity, and also very appreciate of the support that HEAR has granted me to make it to this point in my career. Words can’t even describe the doors that the HEAR foundation has opened for me and many other scholars.” We are so delighted to see that Andres has chosen to pursue a path in the non-profit world and make Chicago’s communities a healthier place!

Andres is enjoying working in the non-profit world!
